This product, which provides complex coverage of all laboratory processes, is called OpenLIMS. OpenLIMS is marked as the new generation of laboratory information management systems with open architecture, which supports local as well as chain laboratories. In the context of laboratory complement, this covers all professions: biochemistry, hematology, virology, parasitology, immunology, cytology, bacteriology, microbiology, genetics, pathology, and transfusion stock.
Development of the new generation of laboratory IS was inaugurated in 2003. During development, many years of experience with the operation of laboratory IS was used by Stapro LIS, which is installed in more than 250 Czech and 100 Slovak laboratories. The team of programmers and analysts also learned an array of valuable information during a two-year cooperation with the English company CDS from the Telepath 2000 product for laboratories. In 2005, pilot operations of OpenLIMS were begun in two laboratories and since 2006, the system has been released for commercial use. It is usable for all types of hospitals and private laboratories. We have experience with operating large faculty and small laboratories.
